Demographics
and Development:
What
is New England's Destiny?
|
|
|

|
|
Our
economic future could be reshaped by our changing demography.
The NEEP May economic outlook conference will focus on the key demographic
trends unfolding in the region. Trends of top concern include
the high out-migration of young people and the rapidly increasing
number of retirees. Issues to be addressed include:
- Why are so many young people leaving the region and what can
be done about it?
- Are housing development patterns changing our demographic profile?
- How will higher education and workforce growth be affected
by these trends?

Thursday, May 19, 2005, 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
